Johnmary Kavuma, an acclaimed social entrepreneur hailing from Uganda, stands as a beacon of inspiration. Co-founding Upcycle Africa, Gewuza Foundation, Kimuli Fashionability, and Upcycle Impact Tours, his life's purpose revolves around motivating and empowering African youth to embark on small ventures that grow into impactful enterprises aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Johnmary's influence extends far and wide, as he has graced various prestigious platforms, including One Young World, Global Landscapes Forum, Seedbed Conference, and Global Advancement Summit, as a compelling speaker. His groundbreaking work has garnered media attention from outlets such as Al Jazeera, Deutsche Welle, NBS TV, KTN TV, NTV, Spark TV, and others. Johnmary's ingenuity shines through his innovative approach to combat plastic waste, transforming it into valuable products and contributing to affordable housing, particularly in marginalized communities and refugee camps. His accolades include the UN Habitat Scroll of Honor Award in 2020 and the IET Innovation Award 2019 in sustainability and environmental impact.
